Questions About Opening A Childcare Center? We’ve Got Answers.

As one of the fastest growing childcare franchises in the Midwest, All About Kids speaks with a lot of people who are interested in becoming owners. Since the childcare industry has gone through a lot of changes over the last five to ten years, we get a wide range of questions about opening a childcare center. There’s a lot that goes into this topic, which is why we want to share our answers to a handful of different questions:

What Type of Experience is Required?

Our franchisees have a wide range of experience. Some do come from education. Others have business experience and focus on recruiting the best staff members to run their centers. Regardless of the specific experience that a franchisee brings to the table, we’re proud to offer our owners a robust training and support program to ensure every learning center franchise is set up for success from the very beginning.

How Much Does It Cost to Build a Learning Center?

We help our franchisees determine if leasing or owning the land and building for their center is the best option. For financing a lease through the Small Business Association (SBA) 7(a) program, a 20% down payment is required. And for building through the SBA 504 program, a 15% down payment for the project’s total cost is required. We also recommend that our owners secure a line of credit (LOC) loan for approximately $200,000 to cover operating costs.

What Are the Investment Requirements for Opening a Childcare Center?

As an All About Kids franchisee, our minimum capital requirements are $150,000 in liquid capital and a net worth minimum of $500,000.

What All About Kids Territories Are Still Available?

We have many available franchising territories in Lexington and Columbus.

How Much Revenue Can a Childcare Center Generate?

While this can vary greatly across the industry, we can answer this question for our centers. In 2014, free standing All About Kids Centers open for at least 24 months averaged $1,417,143 in total revenues and $230,121 of gross margin.

What Makes All About Kids Special?

There are three main things that make All About Kids a very special opportunity. The first is our status as one of the only LEED-certified green childcare centers in the US. The second is the comprehensive training and support program we provide to our franchise owners. And last but certainly not least is our innovative approach to childcare. Every All About Kids Learning Center is able to provide a hands-on learning experience for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age.

If you have any additional questions about opening a childcare center or want to learn more about becoming an All About Kids franchisee, it’s easy to reach us through the All About Kids website.
